Background
Rabbi Mark Rotenberg, CADC, CPC, MJE, DD, serves as Spiritual Advisor at RECO Health, integrating over 25 years of recovery counseling into the outpatient continuum. His focus has been the intersection of clinical addiction work and psycho-spiritual practice — the inner shift that so often distinguishes early sobriety from sustained recovery.
Mark spent 15 years in Arts and Design before finding sobriety and moving into recovery work. He was trained as an addiction counselor through UCLA and later ordained at the Academy for Jewish Religion in Los Angeles.
Approach
Rabbi Mark’s practice draws on spiritual and recovery texts, alongside ancient and modern spiritual disciplines. He works with clients across the religious spectrum — including those with none — because his conviction is that the spiritual work of recovery is a universal human capacity.
At RECO Health, he offers individual spiritual counseling, family education, and group psycho-spiritual work. He often helps clients and families reconstruct meaning after the identity disruption that addiction creates, and he guides them toward personal practices that can carry them through hard seasons.
