Start Your Recovery Journey
Our admissions team is here to guide you through every step. We make the process simple, confidential, and compassionate.
The Admissions Process
Getting started is easier than you think. Our admissions coordinators handle every detail so you can focus on what matters most -- beginning your recovery.
Confidential Phone Consultation
Call us at (844) 638-5391 any time, day or night. Our admissions counselors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. During this initial conversation, we will listen to your story, answer your questions about treatment options, and explain what the RECO network offers. This call is completely confidential and carries no obligation. Many people call on behalf of a loved one, and we welcome those conversations as well.
Insurance Verification & Financial Planning
Within minutes of your call, our dedicated insurance specialists will contact your provider to verify your benefits. We work with most major insurance carriers, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, and many others. We will clearly explain your coverage, out-of-pocket costs, and available payment options before you commit to anything. If you do not have insurance, we will discuss self-pay options and financing plans to ensure cost is not a barrier to treatment.
Clinical Assessment
A licensed clinician conducts a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment to understand your unique needs. This evaluation considers your substance use history, mental health, medical history, social environment, and personal goals. Using the ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria, our team determines the most appropriate level of care -- whether that is medical detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, or outpatient programming.
Travel & Logistics Coordination
Our admissions team coordinates every detail of your arrival. If you are traveling from out of state, we can help arrange flights, ground transportation from Palm Beach International Airport, and any necessary medical transfers. We will provide a detailed packing list and preparation guide so you know exactly what to bring. Many of our patients come from across the country, and we have streamlined this process to make it as stress-free as possible.
Welcome & Begin Treatment
On your first day, you will be welcomed by our clinical team and given a thorough orientation. A personalized treatment plan is developed based on your assessment, incorporating individual therapy, group sessions, holistic programming, and any necessary medical support. From day one, you are supported by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, therapists, counselors, and wellness professionals who are committed to your recovery.
Your First 72 Hours
The first few days of treatment are often the most challenging -- and the most important. Here is what you can expect during those critical early hours.
Medical Intake & Evaluation
Upon arrival, our medical team conducts a comprehensive physical examination, including vital signs monitoring, laboratory work, and a review of your medication history. If you require medically supervised detoxification, our board-certified physicians will develop a customized protocol to manage withdrawal symptoms safely and as comfortably as possible. You will have access to 24/7 nursing care throughout the detox process.
Settling In
You will be shown to your room, introduced to staff and peers, and given a tour of the facility. Our treatment environments are designed to feel safe, comfortable, and therapeutic -- not clinical or institutional. You will receive a daily schedule, meet your primary therapist, and learn about the programs and activities available to you. We encourage patients to use this time to rest, hydrate, and begin adjusting to a structured routine.
Building Your Treatment Team
Within the first 72 hours, you will meet with your assigned therapist for an initial individual session, attend introductory group therapy, and have a psychiatric evaluation if indicated. Your treatment team -- which may include a psychiatrist, primary therapist, group counselor, case manager, and wellness coordinator -- collaborates to finalize your individualized treatment plan. This plan is a living document that evolves as you progress through recovery.
A Note for Families
We understand that the first few days can be just as emotional for families as for the person entering treatment. Our family liaison will reach out to your designated contacts within the first 48 hours to provide updates, answer questions, and begin discussing family programming options. You are not doing this alone.
We Work With Most Insurance Plans
RECO Health is in-network with many major insurance providers. Our team will verify your coverage and explain your benefits at no cost and no obligation.

What If I Do Not Have Insurance?
We believe that financial barriers should never prevent someone from receiving life-saving treatment. For patients without insurance or with limited coverage, we offer several options:
- Self-pay arrangements with transparent pricing and no hidden fees
- Payment plans that spread the cost of treatment over manageable installments
- Sliding scale options based on financial need and individual circumstances
- Assistance navigating Medicaid, marketplace insurance enrollment, or other public programs
Our financial counselors are trained to help you explore every available option. Call (844) 638-5391 to discuss your situation confidentially.
Finding the Right Level of Care
The RECO network offers a full continuum of care. Your admissions counselor will help determine which level is right for you based on your clinical assessment.
Each level of care within the RECO network is delivered by licensed, credentialed professionals using evidence-based modalities. As you progress in recovery, your treatment team will recommend step-downs to less intensive levels of care, ensuring a smooth transition and continuous support. Our aftercare and alumni programs provide lifelong connection to recovery resources.
Supporting Your Loved One
Addiction affects the entire family. RECO Health provides resources, guidance, and direct support to help families navigate this journey alongside their loved one.
How Families Can Help During Admissions
If you are helping a family member or friend seek treatment, your role is invaluable. Here are practical steps you can take:
- Gather insurance information -- Have the insurance card and policyholder details ready when you call. This allows us to verify benefits quickly.
- Document medical history -- Note any current medications, known allergies, prior treatment episodes, and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Express concern without ultimatums -- Approach the conversation from a place of love and concern. Our admissions counselors can coach you on how to talk to your loved one about treatment.
- Be prepared for same-day admission -- When someone is ready for help, timing matters. We can often arrange admission within 24 hours of the initial call.
- Ask about family programming -- RECO offers family therapy sessions, educational workshops, and support groups designed specifically for loved ones.
Intervention Services
If your loved one is not yet willing to seek treatment, our team can connect you with professional interventionists who specialize in motivating individuals toward recovery. An intervention is a structured, compassionate conversation -- not a confrontation. Call us at (844) 638-5391 to learn more.
Admissions FAQ
We know you have questions. Here are answers to the ones we hear most often from patients and families.
In many cases, we can arrange admission within 24 hours of your initial call. For urgent situations, same-day admission may be available. Our admissions team works around the clock to ensure there is no unnecessary delay between the decision to seek help and the start of treatment. We understand that the window of willingness can be brief, and we move quickly to honor that moment.
We recommend packing comfortable clothing for 5-7 days, personal hygiene items, any prescribed medications in their original containers, a valid photo ID, and your insurance card. Leave valuables, large amounts of cash, and any substances at home. We provide a detailed packing list after your admissions call, and our team is available to answer any specific questions. View our full packing guide.
Phone and device policies vary by program and level of care. During medical detox and early residential treatment, phone access is typically limited to allow patients to focus on stabilization and initial therapeutic work. As patients progress, phone privileges are gradually introduced. Specific policies are discussed during the admissions process, and our team will help you communicate important information to family and employers before treatment begins.
The duration of treatment depends on individual needs, clinical recommendations, and the level of care. Medical detox typically lasts 5-10 days. Residential treatment programs generally run 28-90 days. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs can last several weeks to several months. Research consistently shows that longer engagement in treatment leads to better long-term outcomes. Your treatment team will work with you to determine the appropriate length of stay.
Your treatment is protected by strict federal confidentiality laws, including 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA. We cannot disclose your participation in treatment to anyone -- including your employer -- without your written consent. Many patients are also protected by the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), which allows eligible employees to take unpaid, job-protected leave for substance use treatment. Our admissions team can help you understand your rights and plan accordingly.
Yes. The RECO network specializes in dual diagnosis treatment, meaning we simultaneously address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and others. Our psychiatric team provides medication management, and our therapists use integrated treatment models that address both conditions concurrently. Research shows that treating co-occurring disorders together significantly improves outcomes compared to treating them separately.
