Treatment Programs
Every Step of Your Recovery Journey
RECO Health offers a complete spectrum of addiction treatment services, from medically supervised detox through lifelong alumni support. Our evidence-based programs meet you wherever you are in your recovery journey and provide the structure, clinical expertise, and compassionate care you need to achieve lasting sobriety.
According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), effective addiction treatment must address the whole person, providing medical care, behavioral therapies, and long-term support systems. Research shows that individuals who complete a full continuum of care—from detox through aftercare—have significantly better long-term outcomes than those who receive only one level of treatment.
At RECO Health, we understand that recovery is not a linear path. Our integrated treatment programs allow you to transition seamlessly between levels of care as your needs change, ensuring you always have the right amount of support without disruption to your progress.
Levels of Care
Choose the right program for your recovery stage. Our clinical team will help you determine the appropriate level of care based on ASAM criteria.

Residential Treatment
Immersive 24/7 residential care with structured therapeutic programming. Live in a healing environment while building the foundation for lifelong recovery through intensive therapy and peer support.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Structured treatment while maintaining work, school, or family commitments. Attend therapy sessions 3-4 days per week while applying recovery principles to your daily life.
Outpatient Treatment
Flexible ongoing support for sustained recovery. Attend individual and group therapy 1-2 times per week while fully engaged in work, education, and family life.
Aftercare & Alumni Programs
Lifelong recovery support and community connection. Join our alumni network for ongoing resources, social events, continuing education, and relapse prevention support.
ASAM Level of Care Placement
The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria provide objective, evidence-based guidelines for matching patients to the right level of care based on six dimensions of assessment.
Acute Intoxication/Withdrawal Potential
Assessment of current substance use and risk of withdrawal complications.
Biomedical Conditions
Physical health conditions that may affect or be affected by treatment.
Emotional/Behavioral Conditions
Co-occurring mental health disorders requiring integrated treatment.
Readiness to Change
Motivation and willingness to engage in recovery process.
Relapse Potential
History of treatment attempts and relapse risk factors.
Recovery Environment
Living situation, social supports, and external stressors.
Personalized Treatment Planning
During your initial assessment, our clinical team evaluates all six ASAM dimensions to recommend the most appropriate level of care. As you progress through treatment, we continuously reassess your needs and adjust your treatment plan accordingly. This ensures you receive the right intensity of care at every stage of recovery—neither more nor less than you need.
Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities
All RECO Health programs utilize therapies proven effective through rigorous scientific research.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Identifies and changes negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to substance use. Meta-analyses show CBT reduces relapse rates by 40-60% compared to no treatment.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Teaches mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness—particularly effective for clients with co-occurring mood disorders.
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Client-centered counseling approach that enhances intrinsic motivation for change. Research shows MI significantly improves treatment engagement and outcomes.
Trauma-Focused Therapy
Addresses underlying trauma that often contributes to addiction. Includes EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, and somatic experiencing approaches.
12-Step Facilitation
Introduces principles of 12-step recovery and facilitates connection to mutual support groups. Studies show 12-step involvement correlates with better long-term outcomes.
Family Systems Therapy
Involves family members in treatment to improve communication, heal relationships, and build a supportive home environment for sustained recovery.
Integrated Mental Health Treatment
According to SAMHSA's National Survey on Drug Use and Health, approximately 9.5 million adults (3.8% of all U.S. adults) had both a substance use disorder and mental illness in 2023. Co-occurring disorders require integrated treatment that addresses both conditions simultaneously.
At RECO Health, all treatment programs include comprehensive mental health assessment and dual diagnosis treatment when indicated. Our psychiatric team collaborates closely with addiction counselors to provide coordinated care that addresses the complex interplay between mental health and substance use.

Treatment FAQs
The questions our admissions team hears most often — answered straight, no jargon.
RECO Health provides the full continuum of addiction recovery: medical detox at RECO Island, residential treatment at RECO Intensive, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), traditional outpatient, and aftercare/alumni support. Most clients move through several levels as they stabilize, and our admissions team coordinates the transitions so there is no gap in care.
Our admissions counselors do a confidential clinical assessment to recommend the right starting level. People with active physical withdrawal usually start at medical detox; clients who are stable but need 24-hour structure begin in residential; those with daily commitments often start at PHP or IOP. Call (844) 638-5391 anytime — the assessment takes 15–30 minutes and there is no obligation.
Length of stay is individualized to your clinical needs and progress. Medical detox typically runs 5–10 days. Residential is most often 30–60 days. PHP averages 4–6 weeks, followed by 6–12 weeks of IOP, then ongoing outpatient. Research consistently shows longer engagement (90+ days across all phases) produces stronger long-term outcomes than shorter stays.
Yes — we are in-network with most major commercial insurance plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Beacon Health, and Magellan. Our admissions team verifies your specific coverage in under an hour during business hours and walks you through deductibles, copays, and out-of-pocket estimates before you commit to anything.
Yes. Every conversation, assessment, and treatment record is protected under HIPAA and the federal 42 CFR Part 2 regulation that specifically governs substance use disorder records. We never disclose treatment information to employers, family, or anyone else without your explicit written consent.
Aftercare planning begins on day one. Most clients step down through our PHP and IOP programs before transitioning to outpatient psychiatry at RECO Integrated Psychiatry, structured sober living at RECO Institute, or alumni groups. We help coordinate continuing care, employment, education, and family-rebuilding support so the gains made in treatment hold up after discharge.
