Background
Joshua Schamach, CAC, ICADC, is a Primary Therapist and group facilitator at RECO Health, focused on substance use recovery and co-occurring mental health concerns. He has facilitated groups across multiple South Florida programs — RECO Intensive, House of Discernment, Galt Ocean Rehab, Legacy Healing Center, and Solutions Recovery Treatment Center — bringing a broad view of what works across levels of care.
His clinical work is grounded in both formal training and his own lived recovery experience. That combination gives him a particular credibility with clients navigating early sobriety.
Approach
At RECO Health, Joshua’s approach combines empathy, accountability, mindfulness, and evidence-informed practice — motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT — delivered with a steady, grounded presence. His outpatient work centers on helping clients strengthen self-awareness, develop resilience, and build meaningful, sustainable lives outside of a residential container.
He pairs individual therapy with skills-based group work and psychoeducation. He is currently pursuing an M.S. in Professional Counseling Psychology at FIU as part of his LMHC path.

What to Expect
