Editorial Standards
RECO Health publishes evidence-based clinical content, reviewed by licensed medical staff, for people navigating mental health, addiction, and neuroscience-informed care. Every article on this site follows the standards below — from who writes it, to how it is sourced, to how we correct it when we get something wrong.
Who reviews our content
Every clinical article on RECO Health is reviewed by a medical professional whose license authorizes them to diagnose and prescribe: an MD, DO, board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), or physician assistant with a psychiatric certificate of added qualifications (PA-C, CAQ-Psych). Our reviewers include Dr. Anthony Campo (MD) and Dr. Charles Norris (MD) in psychiatry, Dr. Alexander Scheuermann (DO) as Medical Director, Dr. Anton Bonci (MD) leading our neuroscience and TMS program, and licensed nurse practitioners Todd Ludwig (PMHNP-BC), Jacqueline Simon (APRN, PMHNP-BC), Frances Murphy (APRN), and physician assistant Kathleen Simervil (MSPA, PA-C, CAQ-Psych).
Author bylines list the clinician who drafted the article; the “medically reviewed by” line names the second clinician who verified accuracy against current diagnostic and prescribing guidelines. The two are always different people — a single voice never signs off on its own work.
Sourcing standards
We build every article from primary and secondary sources: peer-reviewed journals (JAMA Psychiatry, The Lancet, American Journal of Psychiatry), federal guidance from NIH, SAMHSA, and the FDA, and the DSM-5-TR for diagnostic criteria. When we discuss medications, dosing, or drug interactions, we cite the FDA label. When we describe neuromodulation techniques such as TMS, we reference the specific FDA-cleared indication and the guideline body (e.g., Clinical TMS Society) that governs current practice.
We do not paraphrase press releases or wellness blogs. If a claim cannot be traced to a peer-reviewed study, a federal agency, or a professional medical society, it does not appear here.
How we correct errors
If you find a factual error, an outdated citation, or a broken link, email editorial@reco.health. A licensed reviewer will assess the report within three business days. Confirmed errors are corrected in place, and a dated correction note is appended to the bottom of the article. Substantive changes — anything that alters clinical guidance, medication information, or a stated outcome — always trigger a fresh medical review before the update goes live.
Not medical advice
The content on RECO Health is written for a general audience and is intended to inform, not to replace a clinical evaluation. Nothing on this site diagnoses, treats, cures, or prevents any disease, and nothing here should be used as a substitute for a conversation with your own physician, psychiatrist, or licensed therapist. If you are in a mental health crisis, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or dial 911. If you are considering treatment at RECO Health, our admissions team is reachable 24/7 at the phone number in the site footer, and every call begins with a licensed clinician, not a call-center script.
